Sudden death of Betta.....

Good morning TFF. My Betta died last night and I have no clue why. Please help! His name was Spencer and he was in a 5g heated/filtered tank. His parameters where all in order and he had to known disease. I loved my Betta, please help me figure out his cause of death....

Could just be age unfortunately, but it sounds like you gave them a good healthy life while under your care.

I got him from my LFS less than 4 months ago. This doesn’t seem right.

was that the fish that had a white patch on its side?
if yes, then it had a fungal infection that killed it.

No, it was not that one. He is thankfully still alive. Sorry, no pictures, already removed him from the tank so the snails didn’t get to him.

He had no injuries on the outside of his body at all.

I loved my Betta, please help me figure out his cause of death....

Go through the checklist for reporting a fish emergency (recent additions, use of chemicals, any toxins...) and see if anything applies.
