stupid people

i work in an lfs, today a guy bought back an angelfish, at first i thought it was dead. it was lying on its side in a small square plastic tub. when i opened it the fish moved, when i felt the water it was icy cold. he had bought the fish in cold tap water!!!!!!!! i think another couple of minutes and the fish would have died

Did he bring it back because is was dying? If so did you explain to him why the fish was dying and/or not doing well? I think a lot of people are stupid but a lot of time they just don't know. Maybe if you explain it to him he will understand so he wont do it next time. If he doesn't get it then yes, he is just a stupid person.

he bought the fish back because he didnt want it. three weeks ago he bought an albino toad for his tank. he was told how big they get and how it would eat his fish, but he still bought it. his tank is only tiny. so yes he is stupid.

Why does your workplace allow him to buy fish he has nowhere suitable for? My lfs would not allow this, they might not come oput and say it but I gaurentee they would find a legit reason not to allow the person to buy the fish.

Sounds like an irresponsible lfs to me, sorry.

Some like that happened at Petsmart. I was just standing around looking for cichlids that i might put in my new tank and all of a sudden like 15 gangstas walk up. Then they asked the lady that worked there for like 30 goldfish. Then she explained that they grow very big and asked where they were going to keep them, if they had a 100 gallon or something. Then they were like oh we're gonna put them in this bowl thing and gestured about a 1 gallon bowl. She refused to sell them any but after like 10 minutes of arguing the gangstas finally got the goldfish. which sucks. Then they drove off in their escalades. lol

Some people are fish idiots. They need to do a little research before they try to pull off stunts like the ones mentioned here.

why would lfs cares about their fish being sold to whomever
thats their business . to sell to make money.
they should have said " no guarrantee " if he/she brought it back for the second time after giving him/her fully details at first return.

They should care because it's the life of a living creature. It's not like your selling lollipops. It may be "just a fish" to you but to MANY on this forum consider fish as pets and living creatures that have feelings so they get offended when people are irresponsible. So that's why people and lfs should care!!!

yea at the fish store I work at no matter how hard I try to deny people fish they will still end up with them in the end. Just yesterday some lady and her husky son came in and wanted 7 angels for their 10 gallon tank that they just set up the day before. Well its little joeys birthday and he has to have them all today no ifs ands or buts. I'm expecting them all to be brought back tommorrow and for her to get her 14 day guarentee that we offer for dumb people like this.
