It's like the damned dyed tetras at my lps - the manager of the pet department said he hates to sell them but he refused to stock them for a couple months and the consumers bitched so much that he had to get them in again.

It's a shame that so many crappy things happen for a profit. But that's life.

Why does your workplace allow him to buy fish he has nowhere suitable for? My lfs would not allow this, they might not come oput and say it but I gaurentee they would find a legit reason not to allow the person to buy the fish.

Sounds like an irresponsible lfs to me, sorry.

I want to say that not all lfs are in it totally for profit. I managed a store for seven years and there were many times when there was nothing in the store that was for sale. If a customer had bad intentions and we could tell that the animals were not going to be cared for properly, then the animals simply were not for sale. We certainly didn't rake in the money, but all animals sold went to good homes and we were able to feel good about our jobs at the end of the day.
