This has gotten entirely ridiculous. I seriously don't give 2 hoots about your opinion as far as what you think of my idea of using the product. I just want actual experience with the product and the owner's experience with the product. I've asked kindly that you not reply if you don't have anything to say about the product as far as actual experience, but we see how far that's gotten. I just want you guys to know I really appreciate all your kindness... Others may want to know more about the product as well.

Not everyone can go out there and buy a new sofa or piece of furniture. Those that can't like to keep their furnishings in one piece  Why would you even buy a new item to replace the item that was destroyed - just to let it happen again?! That makes no sense at all... :dunno: But that's your choice... *LMAO*

Who freaking cares if it looks cute or not?! I'm asking for functionality. Maybe you should've read the original post.

I'd have to agree with SRC that these animals are domesticated. They are pets. They are not always wild or feral. They can deal with having covers on their nails, sleeping in a cat bed, being indoors, using a scratching post, having their nails trimmed, and eating and drinking out of bowls. Those are all man made items or changes to their natural instincts. Maybe if you never feed your cat and you let him catch his own food and drink out of puddles all the time, I'd be more inclined to listen - if you say more things like that then I definitely encourage you to post about his/her natural instincts.

At first I was getting irate at the turn of this thread, but it's just ridiculously amusing now.

Just an update on Soft Paws...

I went to the pet store and found they had some for kittens and they were on sale so I thought why not try them out. Well, they had been sitting around our house since we purchased them because we have no use for them yet - well... until my sister brought her chihuahua over.

Aubie swatted at her so much we were afraid she'd get an eye scratched out. Once we put the claws on he was able to play swat at her and they had a great time. No one left with any scratches or bites.

Aubie was actually indifferent to the soft paws. By now a few of the caps have fallen off and we haven't noticed a difference nor has he.

Conclusion: Soft paws gets the job done without harming any animals. Some animals are indifferent to the product once it has been applied. I would recommend this product to anyone as a solution and hope that you won't even need to take extreme measures. When using this, remember not to clip their claws before applying the caps.

Glad to know you had a positive experience with them. We also finally bought some a couple weeks ago and put them on him (we went for the clear ones by the way). Reggie, the 10 years old grump/lump, let us apply them without struggle and he hasn't chewed on them or been bothered by them. He doesn't seem to even notice them. He continues to try to claw at the carpet on occasion, he gets that good feeling from pawing but isn't ruining our new carpet.

I too would recommend this product to anyone.

I am going to close this topic now as experiences have been productively shared despite the arguements and insults tossed about, and there's not much left to be discussed.
