Great idea Jamie! I think i'll swap my filters to the jumbo end and do that! Should get a very nice flow going into the jumbo then and hide the intakes.
I'm not going to be taking my filters out for a while yet, the HDRPs have babies so i cant and i've yet to get my fx5 and 2252.

hey guys, ive found a local discus breeder, would it be ok to add some to the tank if i remove the parrots? Are my other fish compatable?

2 pleco
gourami
4 congos
2 scissortails
2 rams
silva shark

Help much appreciated. The discus are Blue Turks and are 4 inches big. Is £20 each a good price??

Sounds good to me although id take out the Bala, they do better in larger groups (I believe) and a large group would be too active for your angels and discus to appreciate

Yeah the balas need to be in a group a single will get stressed out.

That is what I have always done with my externals and it seems to get a good flow going.

For the first week or two you get a load of gunk attached to the end of the filter inlet, which I think is all the waste which has accumulated inside the internal filter box but after a couple of cleans it works just fine.

I have just set up my Tetratec EX1200 to do this with the spray bar pushing quite a current from the far end of the tank towards the filter box.

No expert on Discus Adam but they will look stunning in such a nice tank.

Seems cheaper than most of the shops down here but I am no expert. Sounds OK to me

cheers, Maidenhead Aquatics are charging £25 each for a 2.5" fish. Wereas these are only £20 for a 4" fish. Seems a good Bargain.

My uncle wanted rid of his 12" pleco so i gladly accepted him into my tank. (Excuse the strainer in the tank lol)

yep hopefully , but im thinking of waiting until my birthday to get about 5 at once. I read they like to be in about this number and at the moment i only can afford 1. Will keep you informed

I have now been after a silver arowana for a while. After numerous visits to my lfs and seeing many aros with drop eye i decided to order him online.

I ordered him on wednesday 30th from Plymouth Discus for £45

He arrived this morning, here are a few rubbish pics and a video - couldnt get any good ones with the light , but i will take some more tonight.

The tank is 100gallons which i know is not suitable for an arowana for all its life , but i will soon be moving towards a custom built aquarium. The 100gall will be his home for a year maximum. He is about 7-8 inches.
