Shameful Betta Bowls

I just went to my lfs and had a lil arguement with one of the workers. To add to my bad experience I walked back to check on the bettas and they had one of those desk lamp things in a box. Another thing is that about a week ago I went into this same lfs and could not believe my eyes when I saw this huge lit up wall that had little box's on the front, each holding a betta in it. These box's are smaller than beanie boxes, and once I got to looking I realized that almost half were lying on their side gasping for air!!!!! When I went back in today it was the same scene~ One poor little guy had white fuzz all over the top of his body along with big black spots. I was so pissed off I left immediately, I knew I would probably be thrown out if not!!  :/ :( I can think of a few more smilies I need right now, but I would surely be banned from the board!!!!!!!!!!
:hyper:

Can I call??

OOOooOooh, can I can I??

Petland of Chillicothe - 740-773-1903 or 740-773-1982
and we also have the Petland Warehouse a couple roads over, where all the important people are, that number is 740-775-2464
Please let me know how it goes/who you talk to. I'd like to know for the next time I go in there. BTW has anyone ever seen this wall of box's like I have described.

i have to admit, that the first tank i bought for blue is this one identically. i had no clue!
i used to feed him every few days and change his water every few weeks. so,

although i now think those are all not good options for bettas, i can understand how people can take the "expert" advice they get from their lfs/lps, because until i stumbled onto this site (when blue had been living in those conditions for about 10 months), i believed the experts too!

p.s blue is still with me (i've had him at least 1.5 years!!!!!)
