:p And thats your lepard bed sheet? :p
:D

It's there protecting my black satin bedsheets ;) And you know, they are really worth it. Cotton is boring, satin is yummy. Here's another picture of it.

55gallondude: They are fresh, but they're not going to rot (fast). I've had pine and apple tree trunks and twigs in my tanks for years without any ill effects. But the mangrove I've bought from the fish store has slowly gotten thinner and thinner. And it colors the water also.

I am soon going to a walk in the forest and I will search for more pine and if I get lucky, juniper.

Hamburger Mattenfilter in the corner :)

I heard that I will get my aquarium stuff tomorrow =)

I mentioned them somewhere earlier in this post but it so far away =):

Silver-Tipped Tetras, Pygmy Cories, about 20, 1 Glyptoperichthys joselimaianus and some Otocinclus. And maybe a pair of Keyhole Cichlids.

Rain, please keep us as updated as you can! I'm learning lots and really like your stocking ideas.

ALASKA

ps - looks like we have the same water chem... weird huh?

Why is that weird? If she can walk 10 miles north to meet santa, and you can do the same, that means you both are only 20 miles apart... Water chemistry should be expected to be the same.

:p

:p
True

I got my aquarium stuff today and all kinds of thingies for the metal halides. But I can't find aquarium silicone anywhere -_- This is a small town and today I really feel it.

I will keep you posted :) I will even take pictures of putting together the lighting contraption (and if someone gets electricuted I'll try to get it on video).

DrOizo:
My fish seem to be quite happy and smiling. Maybe that's because they are high all the time?

Ther's not much sap in the old roots. I've never tried a fresh branch. That would be sticky stuff ;)

I bought sand. 0.2-0,6mm. 120 kilos.

I was really happy to see that I don't need to wash it. It's already clean enough to use in an aquarium.

I just put the sand in the container and stirred it, it looks really cloudy in the picture but it wasn't that much.

I am filling the tank as I speak (well, write). And I am taking pictures, so if it cracks, you will get a picture :D

I put 4,5kg red clay mixed with 6 handfulls of peat on the bottom. On top of that 500g Tetra Initial Sticks mixed with the lowest layer of sand. And I put about 65 liters, 80 kilos of sand.

Lets hope the tank holds that water.
