Well if you don't mind me posting a pic to show you what I did with my aquanano 30 (23 litres) for my betta, so you can see what can be achieved with that sized tank.

I have two vallis, amazon sword and crypts with a floating anubia.

That is gorgeous!! I would kill for that driftwood!!
 
I agree, betta is the way to go. I am saving for a betta tank right now.

I've never been huge on bettas , if I had a 6 gallon I'd definetly either get a dwarf puffer or a few scarlet badis .
