Same Tank New Rock Formation

Tough to say, the pics a little blurry. Perhaps a species of conch?

Great lookin tank Maidenfan, those mushies look REAL happy in there, probably gonna have more mushies within a couple months :good:

Keep monitoring your pH as you increase coral content. More corals mean more demand on calcium/alkalinity/magnesium in your tank and you may find yourself in need of dosing the tank if the pH starts dropping below 8.0. 8.1 or 8.0 is not a problem though, so long as its stable :)

almost sure it's a type of conch not sure though will try find out for you

i do buffer up the ph about once a fortnight but never seems to never get above 8.2 at best then slowly drops in between water changes back to 7.9-8.0

going start testing the calcium and adding additive to suit in next week or so as instructed by my mentor at LFS   he'd laugh at that he's helped me loads and have to him to thank as well as you guys that i've got this far

just found my button polyp had fell of the rock onto the substrate it fell face up thankfully anyway question is do you think it would be ok on the sand or bearing in mind my lighting and the depth of my tank will it be better higher up in the tank just looks quite nice on the sand almost sure though that these polyps live in shallow water and bright light :S

In a nano w/PC lighting...? Probably doesnt matter much

thanks ski put it back on the rock for now its in a quite a fast flow area i have a powerhead behind the rock how are these polyps in this kind of enviroment ? would the calmer area closer to the sand be better?

ok guys got a quick question for you
when is the best time to test for calcium and alk ie before water change after water change does the the light have any bearing on this like ph?

had my srooms and polyps in about 2 week and they're doin fine but i know i will need to supplement my calcium
cheers

pH will fluctuate through out the day, as will calcium and alkalinity. Your best bet is to just pick a time of day and always test at the same time so that you can prperly compare apples to apples so to speak :)
