Red Mark On Guppy

I got a female guppy about a week ago. Tis morning I noticed she has a red mark on her side. Almost like red bruising on humans. She's also been swimming right at the surface for about 3 days now. Any ideas?

Water stats?
Did you filter/mature the tank before adding the guppy and did you de-chlorinate the water?

Possibly high ammonia levels. Fish will sit at the surface and their skin can go red with ammonia burn if your ammonia is too high. Does she appear to be panting/gills flapping?

Could you take a picture?

Could be ammonia, could be a burn from your heater even, perhaps an injury from an ornament... really hard to say.

I had a platy with this, died not long after.
