Do these shrimp need a mature tank?

Any fish that could fit the shrimp into their mouths would view them as food. Sucker fish and some bottom dwelling species, corydoras etc would be fine. Beta's are generally slow so I would think they would be ok however you will need to provide plenty of cover - lots of plants, Java moss/fern is ideal. £7 will buy you 20 and you will get at least one egg carrying female.

YES INDEED. They require the same water parameters as a normal community tank and MUST BE CYCLED. They are sensitive to toxins but dead easy to keep. Stick to regular water changes and feed pretty much anything and you will be fine.

Defy - I guess the postage to Ireland would be quite steep and im not sure how long this would take - I dont want the shrimp in transit more than 36 hours - although its summer time and a heatwave on the way (which is why im posting now) I dont have any problems with low temps but the toxins would slowly build up - I pop in a bag buddy to prevent too much build up and provide a bit of extra oxygen but im not sure about the effects of longer term exposure to a small space....

Tell you what, Lets see how todays posting of shrimp go (4 batches of 20) - if they all arrive safe and sound then I can look at postage to Ireland but it WILL COST MORE of course. If ive got enough shrimp left I can put into a larger Poly fishbox with heatpack and all the trimmings so guarantee the shrimp will arrive safely but again this will cost SIGNIFICANTLY more.

I had a count up last night and I have approx 250 shrimp from what I could see - probably many more with the babies floating around that I didnt count.

I have 60 going out today and a collection of over 100 later in the week hopefully (if the guy comes back to me) - I need to hold back a fair few to continue to breed and of course continue to offer at this price. Are you happy to be on the "reserve list" and ill come back to you the moment I have enough to send you?

AMY - Ive got you on the reserve list. I'll know by the end of the week how many I have left and will let you know otherwise it will be a month or so until my females drop the babies.
