This is a mama bear we saw. She's become rather famous because she likes to hang out near the highway.

Why did the grizzly bear cross the road?
Because she felt like it and nobody was going to try to stop her.

I hope she's careful and doesn't get hit by some scumbag motorist or truck.

I went to a wild game feast some years ago where they had a lot of different meats. I tried the bear. Absolutely awful. Greasy , oily and it stunk. I spit it out.

I wonder what Bear tastes like… my guess is it’s probably very fatty.
It's delicious actually, but you have to care for it in the field correctly, and cook it certain ways. I have a couple friends who hunt black bears. One of them is also a professional chef by training, and his bear green chili is really good.

Also, Juice is right: Bear fat is the absolute best shortening there is, bar none. I've used it. Makes a really great leather dressing, too. And I finish my bows with a mix of pine pitch, beeswax, and bear grease (or plain old lard if none of my friends have scored a bear lately).
