It could be worse - being woken up by wood pigeons on the roof sounding like a herd of elephants in clogs
I get woken up by noisy neighbours, cats, dogs, machinery, and birds playing football on the tin roof. The place is meant to have insulation but sure doesn't sound like it has.

I went for a long run in the hills today. The deer trail I was following faded out to nothing in the bottom of a big draw, and I didn't feel like back-tracking, so I kept on up the draw watching out for cactus and rattlesnakes until I met another trail. This eventually led me up and over a big ridge, until I found myself on Scrubjay Ridge, one of my favorite trails, but one I haven't been on in over a year. It was like meeting an old friend, out there in the wilderness. :)

I wish we had turtles around here.
We have massive snapping turtles in our pond!

My mom and I were doing some yard work down by our pond, which is also next to our driveway, and also next to the entrance to our horse pasture, and a great big snapping turtle was crossing the driveway! We caught it in a bucket, and set the bucket in the lake so it could have access to water while we decided what to do with it (we didn’t want it in the pond, they eat the goslings and wood duck ducklings) but it jumped and knocked the bucket over and escaped!
