Raechal's 120 gallon gallery! dialup warning!

It just looks smaller because it is empty and there is nothing to compare it to.

How do you plan to decor the tank? I think some lovely large pieces of slate rock or bogwood (although slate looks ace with sand).

Are you going for live plants or fake?

Any fish ideas yet 120G gives you plenty of scope for some ace fish?

I am definately going for live plants. I have two live plants in the left corner now just to see how they will do during the fishless cycle. I am thinking about definately planting the back wall heavily with some kind of plant that grows rather tall so it will cover up most of that background. Probably some java fern or some big type of sword plant. Any suggestions? I was also thinking about a larger piece of driftwood in the middle and some type of cane on each side of the tank. I also wanted to get moss and cover the driftwood and rocks with moss.

I was going to get an oscar and make it a more aggressive cichlid tank, but I decided to just add my fish from my 29 gallon into the 120 and add to their schools. I just felt bad because a few weeks ago my 29 gallon had a terrible nitrite spike and it killed a lot of my fish. Mostly the fish that needed to be in larger groups so for example I have one albino cory and one green cory and 2 glass cats and one german blue ram. They all just look stressed and instead of cramming more species into the 29 gallon I figured they deserve firs dibs on my 120 gallon.

Plus, my molly is pregnant AGAIN (without even a male in the tank for her ) so I am thinking that 120 will fill up quite fast with fry.

Is it necessary to reserve for more pics? I thought you could just edit it or something? And the pics disappear anyway when it gets to the end?

You can edit the post and add more pics but I think there is a limit to how many pics you can post on one page, if you add too many pics in one post, it will say you can't post the message. And I wanted the whole front page to just be pictures for everyone to look at. Beats making a new thread everytime I take a picture.

i thought u were getting an oscar? one o fthose wont work well with discus because they are poop machines and discus need VERY clean water

Yea, I was going to get an oscar but I changed my mind. My fish in my 29 gallon are getting the 120. Just thought I'd add some discus later on down the road for a centerpiece.

What room is that in your home?

Well I still live at home because I am only 17, but the 120 is in my room against my wall across from my bed so I can lay in bed and watch it for hours. Once it has fish in it...

You can always edit your posts and add or delete whatever you'd like, but for people who can only add one picture per post it would make it impossible for her/him to have gone back and edited her one singular post and make it contain more photos. That's why he/she reserved spots...........

I also didn't want to delete any of the pics, I just wanted everyone to see how my tank has "grown"

I can't wait to see more pictures either! It is killing me just staring at such a big tank with no fish.

It's terrible, isn't it, waiting for it to cycle..... got so impatient with mine. Can't you take some filter medium from your 29g to speed it up?

Yea I added an old filter sponge from my 29 gallon and put some gravel in a sock and stuck it in there. Hence the ugly sock sitting in my tank.

My dad walks by my tank and says, "Getting anymore sock fish? Are you going to breed them and have sock fish babies? Good because we need some more socks in the house."

It has only been cycling for 5-6 days but it seems like it is taking forever!

Sorry - don't worry, when you get to my age you'll be braindead too!!! I cycled my tank from scratch.... took 8 weeks
