Profession?

Andy ok we have killed eachother -- there is a big case in the States about a Pro football player who gave all his millions up so he could fight in the war. He was killed by friendly and the States tried to cover it up till now.

And plus being trigger happy helped us win the WW

Actually, in the most recent couple of conflicts there have been no reported incidents of British troops killing US. There are (as mentioned above) plenty of incidents with the Americans pulling the trigger though. Worse than that, the Pentagon will not allow any responsibility to lay at the feet of the soldiers (or the commanders thereof) who shoot friendly forces, meaning no justice can be done. This incident makes any mention of "standing shoulder to shoulder" somewhat of a hollow gesture.

Which one? And as to "you" winning the WW, I seem to recall a couple of other countries that were involved (in both), most started a little earlier as well. ;)

Being trigger happy doesn't win wars. Being decent troops with good equipment and good tactics wins wars (along with the weight of superior numbers, moral and reconnaissance). Being trigger happy makes your allied troops not want to work anywhere near you as the last thing you want is to be shot at by both the foe and your allies at the same time. To quote Dara O Briain, the British soldiers in Iraq are being "shot at on a daily basis, although obviously it'll get much safer when the Americans leave and it's only the Iraqis firing at them."

;)

You twisted what Pimp said. Pimp said 'you have to drown yourself'. But you said 'American forces are trained to drown each other'. There's a difference. It's not rocket science...

Quoting certainly isn't rocket science, though you seem to struggle with it somewhat.

I actually said:

"part of me wants to believe that American forces are trained to drown each other."

At no point did I make an assertion that American troops did it. Misquoting like you did is only going to make you look silly when someone can go back and check what is actually said. :D

But you took the topic off of jobs and turned it into this.
My last post on the topic.

andy i have a feeling that you are racist against Americans...(just like the rest of the world.)

Just becuase there are no reports that British troops have not commited friendly fire dosen't mean it hasn't happened.

Congratulations on trying to play a race card. Did you ever think that some people do not like the way that America is and what it does, rather than just hating it because it is America?

I am not racist at all, and broadly am in line with a lot of what America tends to stand for, I do not prejudge the Americans, I evaluate them based on facts and broadly I find them favourable (I would prefer closer ties to the US, than the EU). However, I believe their troops are far too trigger happy, a view shared by pretty much the entirety of any troops that have had to serve with the Americans.

*sigh* The Americans really can't take any joke that places them at the butt can they? This is why the Aussies are so much more fun, they have a decent sense of humour (despite being descended from convicts ;) )

Just becuase there are no reports that British troops have not commited friendly fire dosen't mean it hasn't happened.

These sort of things are lapped up by the press, and are almost certainly going to come out. The Pentagon has refused to even collect statistics on how many troops are killed in blue on blue incidents. This is not a very good sign, IMHO.

My last post on the topic.

And any post not entirely on topic should never take place, yes?

I think andy's butthurt that we kicked their butt in the revolutionary war.

And wasnt the gulf war like-- 16 years ago?

And we're the idiots for not wanting the whole world? oook
