Plec Id Please

help to ID my plec/catfish please
this is the 12" one - from head to tail
been told he may be too big for tank.

It's a gibbiceps Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps.

Might even double in size, eventually, although 18" would be more usual.

im sure its a sailfin plec prob get to 20inch easy hope this helps

typed in google and pics that come up are exactly the same on some of them as mine

he is roughly 12" now
in my juwel rio 180 - 3'3" long

it's either rehome or get a 4 or 5 foot tank ?

what u guys reckon ?

been looking at prices and 4 or 5 foot tanks aint cheap ( would need stand too ) plus new external filter

is it worth it? for 1 fish? no 1 ever buys them cause the size they get :Z but if you have the funds available bigger tanks are always better!

he came with the tank - i got the tank and all fish free from a friend - lost about 4 of the original fish that came with it

he was only about 3 - 4" when i got it - got the tank about a year and half ago

he can get to about 20 inch so got some growing to do any more questions just ask

well tank is 3'3" - just ok for his size now i take it ?
so either bigger tank - 4 or 5 foot ??? what u think

or rehome

so how do i go about selling/rehoming him ??
finding someone with a big enough tank to take him?
is he worth anything? - read u can't buy them anymore from pet/fish stores.

any places u know to look for cheap tanks

3,3 is ok till he gets to 15 inch mark. if you want a bigger tank id say get 1!! i would. if not rehome him now cause you will get 2 attached then id will turn out to be cruel on him otherwise.rehomeing at a lfs or advertise him on the sales section on here free to good home but i would advertise him for £5 max not worth alot hes a lovely fish tho if i had the rome if take him :z gumtree sometimes have good tanks for sale theres a 5ft tank with heater,filter,lights,gravel £30ono on there
