Iwagumi
Hey... no squabbling!*ahem*Yeah, all of them! you know me!Haha all of them?!
It might be iwagumi/island. I'll be sticking with rock hardscape and I've a shortlist of plants but I haven't decided on a carpet yet. I'd like to try hc or glosso but not sure if 1.5wpg is enough. I'm considering the possibility of swapping my T8 rig for a T5 one.Look forward to it hun.... traditional or your own twist?... what plants you planning?Iwagumi

I'm consulting the man-wife too as he loves the iwagumi scapes so I want it to be something he's been involved with.
Fish will be rummy noses. That's for sure. I'm thinking 40. I'd like shrimp too but unsure on type yet. I'd love cbs but wondering if they might detract from the scape too much...
You snooze you lose stu!
You snooze you lose stu!
yea, but i've got a favour to call in at some point....
Yeah, like I said... I'm considering it as an option. The 1.5wpg should be fine, it's the penetration abilities of T8's which can be a problem in deeper tanks... T5's would be a better option but not really necessary.
Yes, getting the pressurized co2 is a must for this... this is the first thing on my list of things to buy.Ive grown HC under 1wpg in similar sized tanks.. it just grew very veeeerrrryyyy slooooowwwlllyyyy .... but i was using pressurised co2 to boot and dosing EI, this is IMO a must in bigger tanks where liquid carbon becomes either way to expensive or just not cutting the mustard.
Yeah as I said before, I'm considering it. I'm actually favouring it over hc at the moment. Can't give you an idea really as I don't have a concrete one yet... but my original thoughts have been scuppered by the man-wide who said he thinks it should be like two mountains with a valley in-between.Iwagumi/island?... care to elaborate or show a pic to give some sort of idea?
Have you thought about a glosso carpet, very underestimated carpet plant which i found far less demanding on light but give a very similar look to HC... there is also not many people nowadays that try it. I'm contemplating this in my 60l iwagumi due to the low light and the dosing of only carbon.
I'm not particularly looking for huge contrast... got a thing for black and white petsCBS are stunning and they do look nice is green scapes, just not as nice as reds for contrast... blue tigers or blue pearls also look stunning.
And I have not forgotten Stu David will not be getting all my cast offs no matter how much he pleads and moansyea, but i've got a favour to call in at some point....
New project sounds interesting. Now that winter's coming was thinking of starting something small scale.Picked up some rocks off the beach this summer, just in case.
How exactly?! I don't recall you doing anything for me that can't be repaid in kind whenever you need it to be that is how friendship works, yes?Caz will always be in debt to me so I win!
