This pic from the internet is simply stunning.

FINALLY! the fry who are almost 7 weeks old in the main tank are getting colours! Hallelujah I tell you. 3 of them are getting red on their tails, one has red appearing on its tail and a dotted pattern. One is looking like a twin bar which I have never had in a guppy before so that will be interesting. It's taken what seems like forever but it's only actually been about 6 weeks lol.

Here are some pics. Most of my guppy fry look like this-half black

Some, like the one above have clear fins, others like this one below have dark fins.

I also have 2 who are just grey with black dots on their tails and fins.

Here is a rare pic of my 2 week old platy fry, both of them have blue eyes and they have black spots on them now too!

It's almost 4 weeks since momma platy had her babies! They are actually going to be 4 weeks old on friday. I am getting confused again lol I need a calendar!
The guppy fry are 2 weeks old, the platy fry are almost 4 weeks old! I am thinking about putting momma platy into the 64L and putting the fry into the 95L.
As you can see it's a jungle in there :p

so I will turn the tank lights off and integrate them into the tank.
Wish me luck!

Holy cow that's grown fast!  Your tank is looking really good.  Hey, why not update your TOTM picture with the new growth?!

I find that my platy babies are much more comfortable around the adults from 4 weeks onwards.

That's a good idea. I will pm someone and ask! Thanks

So here's momma platy. It's almost 4 weeks since her last drop.

I didn't even know she was pregnant the 1st time, I think due to the lack of pigment, there's no gravid spot (I know that's not an indicator, since my 2 week old guppy females have gravid spots) she wasn't huge then, she's not huge now. I think the best thing to do would be put her into the 64L tomorrow at 4 weeks and see what happens.

Your fry look like mine but yours are more white and mine are a bit fuzzy grey. Jealous! The only black and white platies around me sport the mickey mouse pattern which I'm not a fan of :(.

I was lucky to find these ones! I had never seen white platies before so I snapped them up. I am so glad that the female mated with the male I had put in with her and I ended up with mini copies of the parents! I have been away for the night I just came back and I don't see them so I am hoping they are just hiding.

They'll be hiding well - they are masters of stealth and camouflage! lol

This is looking really good Ny, considering its a fairly new set up.

Thanks, the wisteria just melts and grows more.
I caught a few glimpses of the platy fry this morning so they are fine!

Well well well-look what I found!

It's the half black female who has had them, I spotted another one who dashed away when I tried to get it! The mother isn't doing very well, swimming like she has swim bladder disease. Wobbling slightly. I will keep an eye on her.

I made another booboo-I know, I should wear a hazard sign-the fry is nowhere to be seen since I put it in the fry tank. I forgot about the black fry, at 3 weeks old, they are big enough to eat him now, so if I don't see him in the next few days then I will presume he's been eaten :(
