Planned Fry Journal Just For Fun :)

That's a really great picture - the detail is amazing! How many megapixels has your camera got? I wish I could take decent pictures!

Thank! it's nothing fancy, just a digital canera. i bought it because it's pink! It's 14mp I think. It's the sony cybershot.

Whatever it is - it's doing a grand job with your tank pics!
Mine is a Nikon Coolpix S3200 16mp - it must be the way I'm taking pics. It's relatively new so I'm still getting used to it. It's quite different to the one I had before - Olympus Camedia.  I think I need to practice more! lol

Am about to test mine in POTM comp for June so keep an eye open! And don't laugh at my efforts! lol

Wow fantastic pic Ny, and what a lovely fish!

Why don't you have a go for the fish of the month?

I must admit I need to use my camera more than my iPhone all the time, I would probably get much better pics!

He's a lovely looking fish!  I spotted some endler/guppy cross at my LFS and really liked them too.  Maybe I'll get some someday!

Thankyou! Unfortunately a lot of people on here would say "it's only a guppy" I wouldn't get any votes, that's for sure.  I am so glad I am not using my iphone for pics anymore! It's awful compared to my camera! I will take more pics when little one is in bed.

Thankyou! He was the only one in that tank with these markings, he must have been mixed up because of his size! I love endlers! They are adorable!

He's beautiful.  I wonder if he'd breed with your half black female?

Well in that pic above, he had his pick from the half black and the male. He picked the male...

She's probably already pregnant though... and I think she would prefer the yellow guppy male, given the choice!  But maybe if she was ready to mate and they were alone... assuming he's not sterile, as a hybrid.

Guppy/endler crosses tend to be fine that way, any I have had in the past when bred to virgin endler females produced some lovely fry. I hope he isn't sterile either!
The female is pregnant. She mated with my black male and I am eagerly anticipating her fry! She seems to be taking forever though. I will need to check the start of this thread but I think she might only have a week to go. Super excited at the thought of little black babies (hopefully!)
Then the plan is, take a female black baby out, put her into the 30L and put the endler in with her. Hopefully they mate, Take the endler out and let the female stay in peace! That's my plan anyway!

It will if it works like that lol. Knowing my luck, her babies would be red or something and i'd be like how? what?

I only know how to make tuxedo platies from a calico male and an orange female! I thought there might be some variation but apart from one that's got a bit more orange than the others they are all very similar. Good luck with the breeding - sounds very complicated to me but then I've not much experience of it with other breeds of fish.

Thanks. I've only been doing this for almost 2 years. I have only ever bred platies, guppies/endlers and mollies. I was thinking about mollies again but I find they get a bit territorial and can be aggressive. I found the same for male swordtails. I find swordtails and guppies a bad mix.  I also found female platies would readily mate with a male swordtail rather than a male platy. The ladies know what they like!
