This is just my method I am sure other people will have different ones
I keep mine for 2 weeks at a time but before I use it I aerate it for 24hrs before hand with a small air pump { gas exchange } and re mix with a small power head and re heat ect hope this helps john,o :good:

:hyper: i've got my own RO water.................. :good: How suprisingly easy it all was (mind you lol I didn't do it!)

27 August - both Trods and mine tanks and stands arrive, (approx £500 of stuff) dumped on the front drive and left at 8:15 a.m crazy! Tank unpacked and stand (flat pack  ) put together, as usual, flat pack took some considerable time to put together! No proper instructions except a silly diagram which didnt make any sense until you put in together wrongly

28 August - Water in - my very own RO water
29 August - water up to temp - salt in, more than I imagened :hyper:

to do:

30 August - test SG - if ok go get my lr rubble from Swallows @ £10 a kilo
31 August - go collect live rock from kent and fun starts

<seffie singing: here we go, here we go. here we go!>

it is both exciting and so very scary

Welcome to the stress factory Seffie.

Now dont you go taking your reef aquarium frustrations out on them kids in the new term.

I guess you wont be staying behing when the bell goes. (Gotta get home to my new fish tank syndrome)

Your new daily planner doesn't happen to mention marking homework either.

Ps got a new office as well, all new furniture - it is crying out for a new fish tank :good:

Yes tank is full of saltwater, I have put rowaphos in back and have some LR rubble in a pile in tank (long story!!!!)
My RO unit started leaking so was turned off followed by 4 trips to LFS to get RO water at 15p litre
Tank waiting for seffie to pick up LR on saturday.
Stressful, stressfull OMG :hyper: I haven't slept properly for days, I'm sure it will get easier  :dunno: won't it!!!!

Afraid not......You'll see

Dont' scare em away yet BigC
No fear of that Ski they're already in the net. LOL

 yep caught good and proper.

Everything looking good for LR tomorrow, SG is 1.025, powerhead been going for couple of days. also got a koralia powerhead going.

RO unit being fixed (hopefully!!!) at this moment.

Stress levels down slightly ;)

Stress levels up:

no lr rubble yet as blooming salt will not all disolve - how can i possibly be doing anything wrong apart from not standing there stiring it for an hour (which if truth be known I believe Trod had her old man doing!)

Get LR from Kent tomorrow - help. There is still a thin film of it on the aquarium floor and undissolved particals in the water - tested it with new refractometer, wondered if I had put way too much in and it was at saturation point - but of course it wasn't, my refractometer reading at 20 SG

HELP

Make sure your tank is up to temp as the salt will not dissolve properly if it is not. If so try pointing the koralia power head at the aquarium floor to try and create some turbulence so the salt mixes around :good:

mission accomplished - lr transported from Kent and placed in Trods and my own tank :good:

aqua scaping - surely is supposed to be fun, ehh NO - am now left with artistic pile in tank, well a pile is correct, artistic it is not! Got my pretty, 'Tahitian Pink sand in (why they call it that when it isn't pink I don't know).

Trod at a football match in Walsall so I am now one step ahead of her  . She is a huge Southend United fan (well someone has to be!)

So now, here I am sitting with my eyes glued to the tank (so excuse any errors)

Fog is begining to clear...............in tank, not my head  time for a cold larger me thinks
