Elodea is also started to melt badly

Good fish choice and I like your wood as well.

What's the temperature in the tank. Elodea (Egeria densa) prefers cooler temperatures. I mean it's difficult to kill, but if it were to have a preference, cooler temps would be it. It did best for me in an unheated tank or outside in a tub when the overnight lows would go down to the mid 60s Farenheit. It gets a really deep, dark green then, with larger leaves, and delicate white flowers with yellow centers bloom above the surface. Very pretty.

Tank is at 25°C

I can't belive how fast Limnophila grows. It's a stunning plant and great to see the congo swim round it then down and out though the bogwood

got some money saved up again and looking into co2 packages. Would like an all in one as don't fancy doing diy. Any recommendation one suitable for my tank? Also more plants hopefully by the end of the week.

Also any recommendations on a different plant to replace the vailla if the don't pick up?

any CO2 kit will be fine, just make sure you get at least a 2Kg bottle otherwise a 500g will last you a few eek at the most!

co2 put on hold for a few weeks. Give me time to read about KH ect

Spy-bar installed. I think it worth it has I now have a good current in the tank. Dry flake food gets push all along the surface on the gravel and round the middle of the tank instead of just the surface then falling. This will be better pushing nutrients round the tank :)?

Also will be getting more plants this weekend or start for next as am getting green water :/

cool,

what are you reading up on about kh?

ahh just the relationships with the ph it has and what affect co2 can do. Not read up on it yet

Got some plants today
Echinodorus "rose"
Hygrophila polysperma "big leaf"
Altermamthera reineckii "roseafolia"

Removed the Villas as they where not growing at all and turning into mush. I grew these in my low-light tank like crazy. Replaced with Echinodorus "rose"
Think I swap the Cryptocoryyne wendtill round with the siamensis 53b once the tank settles a bit

Now my aquascaping skills ain't very good but I think it's a big improvement from my first attempt at plants :good:

ok, i thought you might of read that it is hard to inject CO2 to the desired level with a high Kh although this is irrelevant as it has to be extremely high like 30d!

Update
DSCN1077.jpg

The left side is now turning into what I had hoped like a little cave made of plants

Limnophila is out of controll :D What the best way to trim it? cut with scissors? Can I replant what i cut?

Added 10 of the most amazing Cards Iv seen yet there colour is amzing going to get 30 in total.
also Added a pair of Rams Both male I see how they get on if one need removing will do so

cutting off the top will make it produce side shoots & bush out,

uprooting and cutting off the bottom makes it grow upwards

use SHARP scissors and make a clean cut.

Plants are looking great

I spot some BGA creeping along the substrate.
Caused by low circulation/flow, dirty filters and low nitrate level. Best get this sorted before it covers the whole tank.
You could add a powerhead along the front for better flow, clean out the mulm in the filter, 50% water change and dose up the nitrate.
