You can try putting it on it's lips and gradually moving the kittens face closer to the dish. My mother cat smacks her kittens on the head to dunk them into the food. Strange behavior I know but it worked they were weaned in 3 days.

Yazan -- when people say weaning, they are talking about the process of getting a young animal that is still drinking milk to accept the solid foods that it will eat as an adult.

chow is more ambiguous, depending on the context it can mean food ( "this is some good chow" ) or it can mean 'to eat' ("we're getting ready to chow down")
