One week or two for finrot meds?

I have to say I am very impressed with Melafix. Flames fins quickly 'rotted' in one day, but in less than 48 hours of treatment with Melafix, we saw an improvement. Now a week later they look great!
The bottle says after 1 week to do a 25% water change and continue treatment if necessary. Since his fins look ok, should I stop? Or would you recommend a second week just to be sure. I have read so many stories of finrot coming back quickly.

I am the cautious type and would continue only because fin rot is nasty stuff that can hang around if you quit treating too early.
