BettaMomma- Ya! u took my advise4
i have a simple, yet obvious answer, why dosn't that person find a person that can ship to the usa, and pay her the money she owes for shipping. simple, yet effective.
Well, i started looking for a transshipper right off the bat.
But you just thought of the same thing we did :)

i know him a little bit from the GBBA. I have emailed him and said how much you want to give the betta a good life and have asked him if he is willing to ship it put to you or ship it tio another transhipper and then on to you!!!!
Lets just hope that we hear from him!!!

Graham

Why on Earth would you consider that BS?!? If a breeder has their choice of siblings for their next spawn...it would be pretty irresponsible to pick the one with only one eye as a parent, don't ya think?

Who's whiney? This woman is minding her own business and posting an image of a handicapped fish that belongs to HER and what....now she's a ***** who deserves to be shot because she can't, or doesn't want to ship to good ole America...home of the bleeding hearts? This fish would most likely die in your care anyway. -_-

Sheesh, you people really are something else.

I can appreciate the idea of wanting to help a needy fish but there's no reason to judge people from across the globe because they're not exactly like you.

EDIT~ Also, I've just spent a blood boiling few minutes condensing posts. From now on, when people choose to add 2,3, 4 posts in a row, all within a minute or two of each other, I will be handing out warnings. There's a handy button called EDIT, use it.

its BS to kill a fish just cuz a handicap...look at lucky hes ok! so this fish will be ok! she says hes not bothered by the missing eye so why cull him..im anti cull only reason to euthenize bettas is for diseases this is not a disease

Hey, don't preach to me. I don't cull either, that explains my hundreds of fish, ya know. But I don't look down on anybody who does either. It's not a "my way or the highway" sort of thing. Different strokes for different folks.
One guy in my club throws his out on the lawn for fertilizer....and they're not even deformed! But it's not my place to tell him to keep all of these fish....they're his, what can I say. All of you need to mind your own.

She can consider it BS because it's her opinion. Perhaps she may see the defect as something interesting, and would consider breeding it herself. Just as a 'mini betta' could be a defect, but is being bred anyway. As long as she is responsible in caring for the fry, that's what matters. After all, there may very well be a market for freaky bettas. BettaMomma seems to have her own collection going of them, so someone else might be interested? It's all a matter of opinion.

The second quote you posted, I'm not sure who said it and I haven't checked back to find out, but again, it's a matter of opinion. It's that the breeder doesn't seem to be making an effort to find this poor little betta a home, when several TFF members are doing everything they can to find a way to get him to BM.

I can appreciate the idea of wanting to help a needy fish but there's no reason to judge people from across the globe because they're not exactly like you.

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but at this point, I don't really care. I've seen several instances where you have lashed out against people attempting to help an unfortunate fish, several where the evidence has later become a deleted post so that no one else can bear witness to the harsh exchange of words.
From the way things seem to me, you've done some judging of your own in regards to other TFF members, based on the fact that something they do or something they believe in is different than what you do.

This was meant to be a thread to help BM adopt this poor eyeless betta. NOT one where people are being spoken to in such a manner for sharing her frustration and feelings for this fish.

I'm assuming you're not referring to me, wuv.

I understand the whole issues here, and yep, I'm certainly a bleeding heart fishkeeper. I'll be sad if I don't get the fish, but I understand that a LOT of people would have to do a LOT of legwork and that it is going to be next to impossible. And it's going to cost me a lot of money. I hope I can get the little guy, if not - so be it.
But I'm sure as hell gonna try.

There are reasons she can't ship directly to me guys - it's the laws. I'll have to file paperwork and the whole nine yards. I'm willing to do it.

I might be nuts, and anyone can tell me I'm a whack job or whatever they want to. I don't really care.

And for the record - I do the same with humans, not just animals so I don't want ANYONE ripping on me for that here, either - I give to the children's cancer society, volunteer my time when I can for ANY local cause, I walk/run in all sorts of benefit races, and I'm going to be an organ donor. I am a sucker I guess but I feel good about what I do.

i wouldent breed the one eyer ,id keep him as a pet . i dont breed bettas i keep them as pets. i think culling is bad seriously the fish is a living organism it should have a chance.

oh yeah sorry Bettamomma im pirating a thread

Yes, that's fine. But attacking the breeder? Saying she should be shot? Sometimes I'm ashamed of the 'betta crew' we have as of lately.

I think you know that's not true. I would never attack someone for helping a fish. I also will not sit here and watch people talk in a "holier than thou" fashion, attacking sellers and breeders the way some of you do.

BM~ it's going to cost $$$$ but I hope you get him.
