Ok, first my male is in a seperate tank, Ive had him for about a month now..when I feed him pellets he eats them then spits them out.. Second, I have a female which Ive had for about 3 weeks and another female I just got today, they are both doing the same thing. When I first got the male he would eat, then I put him into a seperate tank and he wont eat.

Hmm..Maybe I just answered my own question, maybe they are a bit stressed from the move and are not adequate enough to eat? But then again it does seem that they are hungry cause they rush to the top to eat but spit it out..Anyone have any advice? Oh yea, I also got different food such as Betta Flakes, they hate those..

Yeah I was pretty worried about mine when mine did that. It was weird and a little gross. The response I got was that its the way bettas make there food smaller. If they didnt want to eat they just would leave the food alone but if they want to eat they usually bring the food in and make it smaller than spit it out. Then they usually take it back in when your not looking. :shifty: ...Well atleast thats what mine do. There like ninjas :ninja: . Really slick and fast.

aww good! I was hoping for good news..also i have another quick question, I just got my new female I mentioned and I put her with the other female, now..in many readings it says you can put girls together but this new girl blows up and chases the other, almost acting like a young malre..could it be..? I doubt it since I bought it at a store, and they should know right..?

How meny do you have in there?
Some times females are just aggrieve, that's why you need to watch them for 24 hours to make sure they get along.

It is generally recommended to have at least 4 or 5 female to spread the aggression. More lady Betta are aggressive than not. Aggressive fish just have to attack. They need to assert thier dominance and have a pecking order hierarchy. If there are too few ladies one may harrass another one to death.

Which reminds me I have to move my Platinum Lady to another tank. She is showing signs of being the odd girl out. If you see any signs of a dominant girl overly picking on the other, separate them until you can put together a sorority tank. 10 usg with 5 ladies is good.

I just learned from Wilder that Betta can be depressed. Try some different locations for his tank. Maybe he misses home. I think your clue is that his loss of appetite began with the tank change. :)
