newest fish

He's a BEAUTIFUL fish..... wow, it's gonna be so cool watching him grow :D

Wharf Aquatics are great, I was in there last week. Haven't been for a while, so their new marine section was a revelation.....never seen marines in the 'flesh' before. Almost tempted me over to the salty side! :D :D :D

Keep up with the pics, me n the puffer and the bettas love lookin' at 'em!!

:kewlpics: :kewlpics: :kewlpics:

i have a question for you

is that an arowana or a saratoga as i thought we only had saratogas in oz .... r they the same fish and whats the difference?

ps. my archers are spitting all over the branches in my tank with the extended hood when i put cocroaches on the branches!

Lovely fish, i have one of these that is 20" long. Dont expect too many replies though, most folks on here dont say much unless its a picture of a betta or a puffer.

 My last betta died 2 weeks ago and I can't get pics of my puffers, I'm hopeless :p

The aro looks awesome, someday I'll get a huge tank and have one of my own :D

such majestic fish, i often find myself staring at the specimens at the LFS dreaming of the day I can one day house one in a 6ft tank. but then if I had a 6ft tank I'd probably have to make it into a reef so I don't know.

Mary, I did apologise in advance if I were wrong, and it seems I have.
I'm a bit cynical sometimes ! Especially when it comes to newbies posting pics (and beautiful ones at that !) of impressive fish such as arowana's.

So well done  great picture and beautiful fish

QUOTE
i think the betta owners would love your fish if they too had a bigger tank, unfortunatly they dont hence why they keep bettas and dont show as much interest in the tank busters.

Oh please, stereotype a bit more if you will. My tankbusters find it hilarious, as do I!

well i wouldn't exactly call you a "run of the mill" Betta owner, more like a champion breeder with a serious uncureable case of MTS  ;) (by the way your midas is the most human looking animal i've ever seen, that thread with your daughter looking at the tank is awesome  )

to be honest i was stereotyping but lets be honest here i'm sure maybe 70% of betta owners have chosen their said fish due to tank size limitations. if they had a big 100G in the living room there more than likely to show an interest in the bigger fish. i hope i haven't offended anyone, certainly didn't mean to.

if i have, i appologise.

Is that the arrowana that was kept with the giraffe cat that had a wonky eye? He was amazing! I saw him in Wharf only a few weeks ago, and if I was living in my own accomodation with a tank suitable to take him, I would have snapped him up! Wharf are amazing, Im lucky to be in Nottingham because Wharf is near, and because I know I wont stress the fish out by getting them back home.

Which leads me to the next quesion, how did you get him home? Small plastic bag with a bit of stress coat spun round twice and tied in a knot?

Heres some recent pictures of my 20" pearl arowana, they are also known as jardini arowana's in the US and gulf saratoga in Australia to avoid any confusion.

Hi Fella.....that Arowana with the wonky eye (droop eye) was a Silver Arowana mine was in the tank opposite the one ur talking about. The silver wasnt for sale his owner took him to Wharf for treatment ov his droop eye. Mine is an Australian Pearl Arowana and at present 8" still a juvenile cant wait till he grows BIG! You may have seen the one I've got in there cos we'd bought it about 2 weeks ago but had to leave him there till the tank water was spot on.Answer to your second question we got him home just as you said lol plastic bag and did everything you should introducing him to new tank and water. The arowana wasnt stressed at all and settled very quick as if he'd always been here.
