Hi, I'm looking for some advice and opinions on the following tanks which I am considering purchasing but am very confused about:

Fluval Vicenza 260
Aqua One 980

Any comments/suggestions are very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

which is bigger (literage?)

Also have you considered getting a 2nd hand tank off ebay - much cheaper yet you will probably still find if not the same tank then one very similar.

Bigger is easier to manage and gives you more fish choices.

P.S. while you are here, pop over to the beginners section and have a read on Fishless Cycling if you haven't already :)

Glad you found the forum.

The Fluval is 260litres and the Aqua One is 215 litres. Think I was kind of edging towards the Fluval mainly coz it was that little bit bigger. I've looked on ebay and local admags etc but not seen much that I like tbh. :good:

That's a shame, could be worth having a look in classifieds here or even posting a 'wanted' on aquarist classifieds. (if you are in the uk)

Didn't know there was classifieds on here, lol, I'll have a little look :good:

just echoing ebay, and maybe try your local paper, second hand tanks are so much cheaper, and quite often people will throw in perfectly good lights and filters.

I have a friend that has the Fluval and he is very happy with it. I don't know anyone with the AquaOne for comparison though. I would also say to go for the biggest you can afford and or fit the space you have. The bigger the body of water, the more stable the water conditions. Also a very good thread here...CLICKY...Helping you with all manner of fishy things.

Thank you, i think we probably will end up with the Fluval, i can just picture it in my living room already, can't wait to put the order in :good: :good:

The fluval tanks are very good at the moment and they come with decent equipment too, filter, heater, lights etc. Plus the larger tank means you can keep more fish and bigger fish which opens the options of what you can keep right up.
