New To The Uk But Not To Fish Keeping

Hi,

I've just moved to London from Dublin. Unfortunately the 240L tank full of Calvus which had taken me 4 years to get to full maturity didn't make the move as I had to sell them off before I left. 9 months later I'm settled in London and I'm looking for reccomendations for a good lfs (specialising in african cichlids) firstly and secondly, somewhere that will sell me a large 600+ litre tank for a reasonable price. I may go down the line of getting a custom built one but I'd like to to investigate the standard build ones first.

Btw, I live in West london between Fulham and Hammersmith, the fishbowl the only lfs I know of in the locale and my experiences with the staff there have frankly dissapointed me.

Any help or pointers will be gratefully apreciated.

Probably the best fish shop in London and possibly the country is Wildwoods in Enfield, they have a large selection of both wild caught Tanganykian and Malaiwi Cichlids as well as a whole host of fish that are rarely seen in the trade. I'll second what CFC says about Wildwoods and add another great shop in London,
that is Wholesale Tropicals in Bethnal Green

Terry tends to stock lots of unusual plecos and many of the harder to find Cryprinids
so it is worth a trip just to have a look.

I go to a place called 'Crews Hill' which is N London. There are about 10 large fish stores all along 1 road.

Wildwoods is one of the Crewes Hill shops, but to be honest i dont bother to even look in any of the others

... which made WT my favourite shop in England, with Wildwoods second. Both are well worth the trip.
