just to keep you up to date, I've done my big water change now, they the test seem okay and I'm getting my snails and 6 red leg hermit crabs so time this week.

Oh, and before when I was talking about have a worm in my tank, its now two worms.

oh, also I should be getting my some reflectors and some backing tomorrow, which i wasn't shure if I needed or not. But decided that it would look better.

I've got my snails and hermit crabs in now! they have been in for one day and same okay. The crabs started eating the algae as soon as I put them into the tank. I've taken to photos which I'll put on late ( once I've found the usb cable ).

I have got red leg hermit crabs, and I've noticed that some have pincers and some don't? Are they different species or is this a difference between male and female? Also is it possible to breed hermit crabs?

I have some Nassarius Snails as well, but they were all hiding when I took the pictures.

When they moult they will regrow their pincers..in the dense populations in lfs, more so w/salers, these guys can fight hard and often lose them...Add a few empty shells into your tank to allow them to moult and grow...if no shells are added for them they will happily rip a snail from it's shell and use it instead..

Okay then, cheers mate. I've just had a look, how do I know what size openings I need for them?

Ive just order some new shell of ebay because one particular crab is attacking his tank mate, I've called him steroids. other than that the tank is going fine, they have cleared alot of aglae ( none of the bubble though? ) and water is good. I'm going to do a water change soon, but water level of nitrate is good and bad?

Ive just seen something that looks like a baby nassarius snails, does anyone know about this?

The one at the front there is quite a couple of these knocking about. And the one at the back, the green see through one there is just one off.

Theres quite alot of this stuff knocking around

Also I saw a hitchiker crab last night, its the first time ive seen it and only comes out at night, but i didnt manager to take a picture of him. It was small and a brown colour?

I can't remember what those green shoots are called, but they are harmless The other looks like a seaweed, but it is difficult to tell - what colour is it?

It's like a green/brown colour? and there is loads of it on one rock, that rock has the best water flow as well.

I have atleast one baby nassarius snail! YEY!!! I'll try and get a photo of him.

Haha sorry for no update....... The tank is going good. I only have 3 hermit crabs now though, started with 6, but its been okay since I put in some bigger shells in, and one of them is massive now lol.

I now have two clown fish!!!! YEY! I didnt buy them together but the have taken to each other well.

I'm using new era marine flakes, are these okay?

And now I'm planning on getting my next member soon. Don't know whether to go for a firefish or a cleaner shrimp?
