Hi all, I'm new to the site so be nice :good:

I'm looking to change my rio 180 from a comunity set up to a Mawali Cichlid set up. I've never kept Cichlids before so I'm keen to learn all I can. I've found out I need a PH of around 8 - 8.2 for the Cichlids, is this right and if so, what is the best way to increase my ph levels. I did a test last night and my tap water is neutral 7.0.

Plus can anyone tell me...or tell me where I can find out the litres per hour of the internal filter that comes with my juwel system. I'm looking to add another filter to the set up and looking for comments and advice as to what people preffer.

Thanks.

to raise your PH get shell grit u should be able to get it from ur local pet shop in bird section or fish section just make sure you wash it thoroughly you can either get a stocking and put it in that if u have a canister and stick it in there or if you dont just put in your tank and mix it threw your substrate that should raise it to about ph 8 and how big is your tank
