New Stuff - Pics

Well Im going to try kill the aipastia today grrrr.....

and last night I saw my first bit of animal life in my tank and red worm i think a bristleworm, it was only about inch long are they harmful?
It was going mad swimming frantically around the tank, it wouldnt stay still.

nobody answered my dumbo question lol

I about to ask a dumbo question do you need to still dechlorinate RO water if you make your own?

I don't think you need to de-chlorinate R/O water before you add it, if the process of making it isn't flawed, and by that I mean, the filters aren't ancient, then no you shouldn't have to unless the filters are, as I said, old.

I don't think the bristleworm is bad. Just keep a look out for more life!

RO water does not need dechlorination... It should have no solutes in it whatsoever :)

And 90% of bristleworm species are good scavengers. the other 10% tend to eat specific types of soft corals, usually mushrooms, or are fireworms. yours are prolly regular bristleworms.

It was so fast..it wouldnt keep still...its quite scary but exciting all the same! woohooo im getting 10 more KGS of live rock next week. How much do i need or is that okay amount?

woohoooo everything is finally here shall take some pics and post later! :D :D :D

I dont like the layout of rocks looks weird to me so at the weekend im going to change it :D
should be fun!

edit - and yes of course i shall fill it up! I just dont want to be up to my armpits in water when moving stuff about :p

Lookin good there :good:

Can't wait to see what you come up with for the new LR arrangement :)

Hey thanks i shall be moving it all around today and hopfully achieve somthing that looks good! :D

So this is my new layout i think it look more natural than the other layout as nature was random! and im happy with it, also give me more room i think to add corals and stuff rather the way I had it before :) hides the powerheads as well.

any comments?

do i have enough live rock in my tank now? 20Kg for a 35G 42G (us) thats just over a lb per gallon?

looks well nice and clean!. Just wait for the algea to get set in and watch it all got red and green....

That should be enough LR, with what you get the frags on adding to it that is

Looks like my setup :). My only two suggestions are to make sure that you get flow all over and that your powerheads are easy to surface. corner-filled rockwork sometimes can have more dead spaces, so just watch for that. Looks great though :)

yea i have flow all around the tank as i can see bits flying everywhere when it was clearing, thanks as well to everyone for the advice and nice comments, cant wait for it cycle and start putting stuff in there, i really wanna add corals though and stuff, so glad i chose lighting where i can now!

Love that tank mate, superb!

What size is it?

Also how much did it cost?

Cheers :good:
