AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! :shout:

Worry,concern,worry,concern,worry,concern,worry,concern,worry,concern   ......

Most people wouldn't say this is bad but I am concerned. My fish have no idea it is feeding time when I feed but my YWG has warmed up to the feeding regimen but my flame angel I have yet to see eat. I turn off the pumps and dump in flakes, frozen brine, and my seafood mix and the angel never comes out from behind the rockwork to eat. Then I turn on the pumps so the food gets behind the rocks and I don't see him then I can see him and his lips are moving quickly then stop. I am afraid my fish aren't getting enough to eat granted the angel is only two days in the tank. Will he warm up like th YWG??? They were eating well at the LFS

Well, it could well be because you decided to rescape the tank right after you got the fish. He may well be stressed.

Thanks for the advice :), will he be okay  ???

I am thinking of a ORA mandarin in the far future with my tank  :hey:

Maybe mandarin. They are very difficult to care for, just ask anyone on who has kept them.

The angelnshould be fine, just stressed out.

Thanks I know, but I'm up to the challange. Even though it is an ORA mandarin I will still add it after 6-12months(until I'm more experienced at the hobby). a website claims their mandarins can suvrive on comercially avalible food such as chopped up bloodworm, frozen brine and mysis, Spectrum pellets and more. This is where I hope to get one from.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :shout:

Do NOT trust ORA's claims that they eat pellets & frozen. I took home a spotted mandarin from ORA, the "easiest" of the mandarins. Even saw him eat pellets at the lfs, or at least go for them and put them in his mouth. Now, IMO, that does not always constitute eating. Then I got him home, he ate only pods. Nothing but pods. I rehomed him as soon as I noticed a weight loss.

Do NOT put a mandarin of any type in your tank.

I respect your opinion but what about with a large refugium and intensive care???

And I still say no. See, when Tyler's 90g tank matures, he can have a mandarin, possibly even a mated pair, as he'll have enough real estate to support the natural pod population that mandarins need. By the time a mandarin exhausts one side of the tank, the pod population will have recovered on the other side.

Mandarins will eat a pod literally every 3 seconds. He'll wipe your refugium clean in a matter of weeks. Then you'll have to dose pods. Pods sell for about $18 a bottle. You'll get a few days supply max out of it, then you go off to buy more pods. Is $18 like 2-3 times a week worth it for a $38 fish? IMO, no. There are easier, just as lovely fish, IMO, to keep that don't require such stupid amounts of care. There are better ways to spend your money.

Mandarins are for big, mature tanks or for people with large pocket books. I have neither. I imagine you don't either. Save yourself some money. I'm not trying to be harsh, I'm just telling you how it is.

Thanks you for your knowledge........ master....... *would put a bowing face but not here so* :ninja: master.......
