I've read and heard glowing reports about this brand of fish food for a while now and I'm considering buying some to feed my trifasciata pair. I haven't looked into he ingredients but apparently it's a mix of krill and veg and is said to do wonders for the color of fish so I'm curious as to whether any members have experience with it?

I'm considering making the switch from tetra because I need to find a staple for my apisto pair. Yup I agree, feeding apistos is pretty much hit and miss. However, in my experience once they take to a staple (being fed live/frozen 2 times a week) their rate of growth and health tends to be "better" overall.

My Female Tri is tiny. The smallest thing in the tank even when compared to the bee shrimp. But she has tons of personality!

I tried it based on the glowing praise of a forum member. My fish hated it and absolutely refused to touch it.

Hmm Thats the thing. I've found it for around £14 ($28) and I don't really want to buy something I'm going to have to throw out within an hour of using it regardless of the cost? Decisions decisions...

By the way was it the flake or the granules you used?

Feed what works for you is my advice, I don't see the point in shelling out for expensive foods when you don't need it, your fish will be fine with plain old fish food.

My trifasciata isn't taking to the tetra prime that the other fish can't get enough of. So I'm trying to get a staple they all enjoy and NLF seems to be highly recommended.

@kissfn If you weren't so far away I'd ask you to send a fellow hobbyist some just to see how it goes down. In terms of fish food it does seem a little overpriced.

My fish looooooooooooooove NLS. If i tried to feed them flake, they'd either ignore it or spit it out. IMO its worth every penny. Brings out amazing colors in all my fish :good:

If you were in the U.S. I would have been happy to send you some.

Thanks Kissfn I appreciate that and vice versa of course!

Flakes or granules and what type of fish? Pics please pics please lol

I got a free sample from lfs when they started selling it, cichlids didn't touch it even after a few feeds, but they might've got around to it.

I think there are just as good foods available for less

Some of my fish I feed the NLS granules, the discus, kribs, betta's. My severum wouldn't look at it.

I feed them the Thera+A formula 1mm I let it soak in water before feeding. I'll put a video up just to let you see for yourself :p But I already fed them today, so it will have to wait until tomorrow :p

Oh and I have Pink Jewel Tetras, Kuhli Loaches, Peacock Gobies, Sparkling Gouramis, and shrimp. My amano shrimp will steal NLS for themselves sometimes!

I use NLS 1mm sinking pellets for my Malawi Cichlids and they are crazy for it. I was just commenting on my journal thread how fast they are growing and how bright their colors are. In my opinion, it's worth every penny.

@Crossfire many thanks in advance

@riogal11 could you link us to your blog

Thanks guys! I just ordered some "Ocean Nutrition Cichlid Flake" and will probably order the nls tomorrow depending on what else is said here. Either way I'll probably have a few foods come/Wednesday not all of which is guaranteed to work so if anyone would like a "like new" tub of fish food then just say so in this thread.

Hopeful as always but pessimistic about feeding SA's

NLS There A is the best one IMO, very good with the garlic in there too as it seems to work wonders on cichlids and marines.
