i woke up this morning and turned on the light to my 10 gal and i found my angel fish dead. no sign of disease or stress, and was eating well. stats are all pretty decent(o amonia, o nitrite, and 20 nitrate). i saw my angel near my heater and it turnrd out its nose was stuck behind it and it was dead :-( tank mates are 3 ottos, 1 cory, 1 full grown male guppy, and 1 dwarf platty, and i think 8 few month old guppies, 2 few week to a few month old platies, 1 few month old molly and 6 week old mollies. what could have possibly have happened? btw the angel was quarter sized.

RIP my little angel :byebye:

Sorry about your angelfish.
I dont know what happened to it, how long did you have it for? Angels are stressed really easily though.

ive had him for a couple of months. i had originaly got him because i was told it can go with my 3-spot gourami. turned out to be a bad idea and his fins got real torn up so i seperated him and treated him with melafix to make sure he doesnt get fin rot or anything and he ended up getting colomaris(sp) which luckily was gone within a week. after that i had decided to put him in my ten gal with my guppies and such untill i could get a larger tank. he had been eating well and no sign of stress or disease and as ive already said woke up one day and found him dead. the only thing that makes any sence is becuase his head was stuck behind the heater that he might have been burned realy bad and the died or something.

sorry to hear about your little angel :-(
we lost an angel recently, and again strange cirucmstances.. we also followed some really bad advice, and as a consequence lost 5 angels before we could figure out who it was  ! once the perpetrator was evicted from the tank we thought all would be fine, but sadly our last angel (an extra specially beautiful black lace angel) died. no apparent reason, there was no damage to his little body, he was eating fine, and seemed happy. and no one seems to be able to suggest any reason as to why this happened.
if you want more angels, i was advised to buy 6 juvenilles, this way they may pair off and make babies also
hope you have more success with your next lot!
