ok i really like my zebra danios and would really like to have a shot at breeding them now i just need to know how to do it extra tanks are not a problem and i will go and buy anything else i need and yes i plan on keeping to offspring if theres not like a million of them

thanks wolf really helpful :good: great job

My advice is this.

Get a 5 gal tank, (I use the firsh r fun integral tanks), put an undergravel filter, coverl with gravel and add some sea-nery artificial grass. Add fish, feed well but not excessively. Change 50% of water per week

Every week or so or the evening after you see them spawning insert an aquavac into the tank in the grass and empty the cloth pouch into a bowl and inspect for eggs. If you find eggs either hoover all the eggs out or remove the fish and leave the eggs to hatch.

In the interest of not keeping the adults in a small tank for any longer than necessary at what point should the breeding adults be moved? is it when you can see the red bottom on the female?

you should remove the adults as son as they have spawned
that will often mean watching them at dawn or dusk to see the "act"
