My River Reef 94 Marine Adventure!

Tanks is looking good,

About the Sun Coral, have you been spot feeding it?

In another post another member suggested cutting a 2 litre pop bottle in half, sterilized it and then put it over the top of the sun coral, spot feed the food to the coral for a while through the bottle neck, there for the coral will be getting all the food without any competition. If your coral is unhealthy due to lack of food this should help :)

Good luck

cheers pal got the spare water mix, bucket and milliput ready, may do in a moment

teh sun coral is thriving to be honest, really easy to feed as it opens its polps everytime i open the lid it seems so i just spot feed it with a platic pipette. i make sure each polypsgets fed although the smaller polyps at the bottome can be tricky

well I did the rescape last night
although the volcanic dist cloud has cleared the corals all still look a bit moody so I won;t get pics just yet. Not 100% convinced its what I wanted but its so difficult to do. What it does achieve is place my sun coral, trachy and torch coral in a more prominent position so I can enjoy them more and allow a big space for the beautiful maze coral I have seen in my lfs once I sell the finger and kenya tree that are attached to a piece of live rock

love the tank and the corals, if i wasnt moving in 6 weeks....

whatever happened to the coral beauty??

Looking forward to the photos my little criminal solicitor :p

Seffie x

will do them today, selling the live rock with finger coral and kenya tree on, it doesn;t fit in somehow and I have a replacement penned in thats if the LFS hasn;t sold it! lol

these marines aren't half hard work!!! does it get easier to balance the stats

tested again today

nitrate 10 :good: better than last week
ph 7.7 low again
nitrite 0
ammonia 0.009  whys that now showing a reading?
calcium 260 too low right only just bought the kit today
phosphate 0.1 but in reality its a lighter colour than the chart for 0.1 which is the lowest on the chart

also sgwas a bit low 0.024

fish seem ok though, the two clowns I got from a different shop are still ok 8 days later. far more success than the 3 I got from the same batch from my usual lfs

someone who texted me at midnight last night promosing to come and buy the finger coral and kenyatree didn;t today.. in some ways I;m quite glad as i like the finger coral I just don;t like the rock its on, i could take the finger coral off and milliput it on anotehr rock couldn;t I?

also used a stanley bladee to clean the glass and its spot on now

0.026????? Blimy that's a freshwater system :)

I would of thought that you could gently pry the coral of and stick it down to a new rock but you may want to research it. Maybe take a dremmel/chisel to the rock, make a smaller rick for the coral and some rubble for your tank.

You still selling the tree? Where Abouts are you?

wirral merseyside Sorgan. Your in Welsh Wales aren't you? yes selling a tree as I;bve already got one thats been moved last week and has doubled in size since then lol

Wales? No fella I'm southampton (soft southern g*t, yes I know) if you don't find a buyer for the tree give me a shout.

Calcium at 240

Firstly retest secondly get your LFS to test to backup yours up

thirdly mix up 1litre of water and 35g of salt and test the calc on that if low you may have a bad batch of salt which are you using ?

low calcium will affect the LPS corals you have, they need calcium in order to grow the skeleton part.
