My New Seashell 60X18X24 Wdh

naaa, i also spent £300 on nursery furniture as shes expecing our little one in december, this is my last "big buy" for a good while and i wanted something a little more solid and child friendly than the Juwel tank. Thats my excuse anyway! :)

Ahhh fantastic. Shame you bought two new Tetratec EX1200's, i'm trying to sell one that isnt even 12 months old yet!

Keep us updated! Looking forward to seeing your plans unfold.

Yeah very impressed with them.

Got a picture background on there tonight and a 2nd 300W heater. Messed around with the spray bars so i have the left hand filter spraying from the back towards the front, while the right hand filter sprays the length of the tank from right to left.

Also came home with six 3" Clown Loaches :D They had so many in the shop i just couldnt resist them. I know for a fact lots of them will sell to unsuitable homes so i decided this tank is plenty big enough for them for many years.

I've moved over my Tiger Barbs tonight, the tank is somewhat alive and although its probably too soon to pick any nasties up in the water i did a test for ammonia and nitrite, both read zero so all good so far.

Chucked in some more wood for the loaches and bulldogs to hide under but couldnt be bothered to move any vallis around, its actually quite nice to see the tetras and the barbs darting between it all.

I'll get the Co2 going again tomorrow and my bottle of TPN+ should turn up at work so i can start dosing that too.

I need to stop spending money :)

Looking fabulous :hyper: well done :good:

My 1200 is quiet, they can get airlocks when first set up,so give them a shake to dispel any thats trapped in there, that'll quiet them down :good:

Thats a beautiful tank mate fair dus. Any ideas on the aquascape design yet? :good:

Cheers, nar not yet lol. Cant decide what to do. :D

Just letting the fish get used to the tank at the moment and keeping an eye on the water quality for a week or so. My TPN+ arrived today so i'll get my CO2 setup again tonight. When i get some downtime at work i'll do a bit of research into plants. Now i've plummed for half a dozen Clown Loaches im going to have to get some deep rooted ones!

moved some vallis around and shoved some more wood in. Little vid so far:

Cheers lads, im quite chuffed with my little eBay bargain. I would have loved a 6x2x2 but in all honesty i think that would just have been too big. The fish are going absolutely potty tonight especially the corys and the loaches! I think they like it!

I am using compressed CO2 and it wasnt until i started using it that the vallis would stop melting. I'm hoping it continues to grow in this tank after the move!

I still havnt got a clue how to lay it out, i quite like the mass of vallis where it is and i might find some nice smooth rocks to put around the tank here and there!

The loaches have already dug a nice bowl shape under the bogwood, im hoping they dont keep digging down and hit the cat litter! mind you, it should have solidifed by now so im not worried about them kicking up a mess. This playsand is so soft and easy for them to dig around in.

Great tank , I am trying to talk the wife round for a bigger tank but not having much luck yet.

What sort of tank do you have and how many litres does it hold?

ummm, it holds 424 Litres i believe. I dont think i need to answer the first question as this thread is all about my tank :D :good:
