Planted some Hygrophila Rosae Australis on the left hand side wall tonight, hoping to get a bit of balance with the height, its supposed to grow up to 50cm, i'll have to wait and see if it does well or not.

Also got all the anubias nana i had and tied it to the front and right bits of wood, also saved some good plantlets from some crypts that were going bad from my other tank, planted on the front right.

Peeled appart an amazon sword and planted two of the best pieces in the back middle too, about 5/6 leaves on each.

Need to pickup a new drop checker for the other side next, top up a few corys species and then sit back and just watch it mature.

The 2 x T5 54W lights come on at 5pm till 10pm, the CO2 at just over 1 bubble a second at 4pm till 8:30 and im now dosing TPN+ on a weekly basis doing a 50 water change every two weeks.

Looks good mate, really starting to fill out now, even after a week or two!! Hows the 1200's doing?

The 1200's are really impressive, gave them a shake and they operate a little more quietly now after getting some trapped air out the system. I've not bothered taking one appart yet to see how clogged it is, to be honest i might just leave it another month or two before i bother. they are keeping the substrate nice and clean, nothing stays on the bottom for long, i've not even felt the need to hoover anything up. Spray bars constantly keep the plants moving too. Big thumbs up! :D

Cat litter in:

did you do any prep for the cat litter or just straight into the tank?

Mine's ready to go but I'm nervous about throwing it straight in there.

Also, what cat litter did you buy?

Your Vallis looks top quality! Why doesnt mine grow and stay like that :( :(!

Same here, bought 3 lots for my tank.. now there are two left and all the tall leaves died off but there's plenty of new shoots coming off at the bottom so I think it just took a few months for it to settle and now it will hopefully come back with a vengeance! I don't do CO2 either, I'd like to eventually but no matter how simplified people describe how it works I can't get my head around it and the complete kits available at an affordable price are only for 150 litre tanks.

beautifully done, keep us updated on the aquariums maturity, and I shall try this clay litter idea on one of my future projects :thanks:
