My New Seashell 60X18X24 Wdh

Its nice to see a big tank without big cichlids etc.

Doesn't look half as busy from the pics!

I think its probably because i've never gone down the cichlid path before, 15 years ago or more my parents had a bigish tank with lots of common fish in and thats how i started this one up.

One day i'd like to get a nice 6 foot mbuna tank going as i think it would make a wicked display tank for a front room but i've chosen my stock now so just going to sit back and enjoy it. Im hoping the Bolivians will spawn, thats something i'd really like to see. They've done it twice and eaten the eggs in the old tank, but no sign as yet in here. Quite happy plucking out cory eggs from time to time too and growing them on, other than that i dont really want to get into it much more for now. The clown loaches are going to be interesting to wath grow up, still pondering some more but then i think my plants will really go to pot :D fun fun Oh and of course i want to see what plants i can grow before they do get too destructive!

wow that some list!

do you find your sand get blown about with the water flow?

Recently added 10 Harlequins to my 180 and they sure do liven it up. They look great. I think they may be the copper variant though as they have a fair bit of orange on them.

Here are my Copper Harlequins do yours look like this ?

not in the slightest mate, the spray bars are just under 2 foot above the substrate and the power heads are angled upwards. Occasionally if a fish spooks it will swish up some sand, but it settles within a few seconds.

cheers i will have to work on the flow mine was pointing down a bit lol

They sure do LP... Will TRY and get a pic if they ever stay still for long enough.

Not bad for free eh?! :D

They're bright red under my tank lights!

Edit: Actually, they appear to have more red on on them? Maybe they're one of the other variants that are commonly sold as Harlequins? I forget their names.

Hehe, i understand they are a nightmare trying to get a snap. Quick little buggers.

Hi was wondering what temp you keep your water?

It sits at 25 degrees mate. It seems to be a relatively happy temperature for most of them.

Whats that small stuff growing round that stone at the front?

Whats that small stuff growing round that stone at the front?

Hemianthus Callitrichoides matey, only just planted it last night, no idea if its going to grow or be able to withstand the corys and clown loaches digging it up!

Hi question again in one of your vids what are your forts feeding on please

forts? phone auto correct im guessing :D

I feed a lot of different foods, but you are probably watching them eat Nutrafin Max Bottom Feeders Tablets

They also get Nutrafin Max Cichlid Sinking Granules, Tetra Prima Granules, random tropical flake food, a variety of algae wafers and of course various frozen foods. Followed by fresh veg in the form of crushed Peas, Cucumber and Broccoli.
