My New Seashell 60X18X24 Wdh

ive raised the bubble count up to about 5 a sec, i still cant achieve a nice lime colour, im not even sure its necessary as its not high tech lighting. as long as its stable is should be enough even if it stays green?

I agree if the plants are looking healthy and your DC is green you should be good. Mine gets to lime but not a very light lime but my plants seem happy so i leave it at that.

Anyone want 17 tiger barbs? poxy things :D Couple of bronze corys in spawning mode today, i watched the smallest tiger barb chase them around and pester them like mad. grrr

Might have to set my 90 litre up for them again or get another one :) then i can get another 25 rummynose to add to the 15 i have already! :D

Bleh.

Tiger barbs are so wicked to watch in this tank though and im quite happy the corys dont plaster eggs everywhere now, small bonus :|

If i had a tank for them i would take them but as you know they are in use now.

Set up the 90ltr mate you know you want to.

So i take it the Barbs think its free food when they corys spawn ?

yeah pretty much, i got plenty of hiding places for them to scoot underneath where the tigers dont go but the corys are often too daft not to use them, so you get a tiger sneek up behind them and nip at either their tail or dorsal fin. Its quite amusing to watch but not exactly fun for the corys :D Today was the first day i watched it happen in about 3 weeks so its deffinately when they want to spawn. I knew they would be gits and its purely for fun half the time, the bloody things are well fat :D

Planted a few more crypts and found a huge moss ball today, also replaced my rather limp Amazon swords with new plants, Pets at Home had a new tropica plant delivery so i nabbed some fresh ones.

Cheers!

I got rid of my Tiger Barbs today and replaced them with a couple of dozen Harlequin Rasbora, should make for a more peaceful tank.

Im going to get another 2 dozen Harlequins tomorrow i think or at least get the numbers up to 50, then bring my Rummys up to 25.

£30 for 25 Rasbora wasnt a bad price, but they are quite young. Should do well in the tank though.

Very nice m8ty have you a photo of them in the tank shoaling :good:

Cheers!

Vid Done, sorry not a great one, vid camera isnt actually HD but you can view it in 720p on youtube....somehow!

They look good in the tank mate. Plenty of space for them to shoal around in.

Hows the inline diffuser working out mate ? I have just installed a tetratec ex1200 and may look into an inline.

seems to be doing its job mate, still not ramped up the co2 enough to get lime green yet though but the plants seem to be doing alright at the moment

I have turned mine down to 2bps from 5bps last week as the FE was being wasted. I say this as the plants i have are not really demanding plants. If i notice any changes i will just have to turn it up a notch.

Im giving up on going lime green, i have better chance f winning the lottery ! If the plants look good on 2bps and no lime green then i am happy.

Oh and how about mixing the harlequins ? You have rasboras how about some copper harlequins aswell ?

there was a tank full of coppers next to these guys and they did look more colourful i have to admit, but they were also quite a bit smaller. Im actually happy with the 25 i have in there now, i think if i got more it might be a little over the top, so im going to ponder half a dozen of something different to go in there. The Rasboras certainly own the top 1/3 of the tank, while the tigers were middle to bottom. So i think i have room for something interesting, maybe a couple more bolivian rams or a couple of snowball plecs. I feel ive got space now to put the numbers right for some species, i.e. i need 4 more panda corys, 3 more metae, 3 more SAE's so i might just top them up and see what it looks like. I also want some more plants!

They are smaller without a doubt. Both variants are nice fish, great choice :good:
