My New Seashell 60X18X24 Wdh

good circulation stops anything from settling on it for long mate, once every 3/4 months i lift up the wood thats in there during a water change and siphon anything dirty out thats underneath, thats about it. :)

Added 6 x Botia striata (Zebra Loach today) very young, 3 around 2 inches and the other 3 around inch and a half. Decided to cut down on my cory count so i'll be offloading all my bronze corys soonish, which is a breeding group of 7.

I honestly dont remember, my plants dont seem to do much very quickly :D

Must remember to set an alarm or something when i fill the tank back up while doing a water change.....kinda flooded the house while i sat on the computer playing battlefield 3. Oops...Was a good excuse to pull the tank out, tidy up the wires for the lighting and paint the back gloss black :D

I once opened the clips on my filter before disconnecting the hoses.

took 30mins to mop that error up.

Whats new, humm

I've got 2 more 54W Ho tubes in there now, with a 2nd starter for them. Back to a 6 hour lighting period as its now at 2WPG.

Went bananas with some Crypt undalatus kasselman & Crypto beckettii scattered around the foreground.

I've ditched the spray bars, i was getting frustrated with the sand at the front thinning down and getting to the cat litter, which made a mess. Also, it gives the vallis a chance to stretch out as its getting to around 4 foot now.

Purchased a Aponogeton ulvaceus bulb today from eBay, never grown anything from a bulb before, cheers to Ianho for the idea in another thread.

Got some Purigen in a filter now, and have only put filter wool into one filter instead of both to increase the flow a little.

Latest piccy.

You're the one with all the new votes.

And you're already lower than a clown loaches belly.

Lol fo :D

Got anotehr 4 Zebra loaches today xD Bring me up to 10 of them same as the clowns. Loaches rule :D

looks great Tizer! :good:

Cheers!

I planted that Aponogeton ulvaceus bulb on friday, i got a feeling it wont grow in here so might have to move it to kick start it. I keep finding all three green bits of growth chomped down to nothing. Loaches i think, lol :D

Picked up a Thorichthys ellioti today in Maidenhead Aquatics in Windsor, first time i've been there, nice little shop, quite heavy on the marine side but lots of L number plecs and various other fish i've not seen around much.

Not seen any ellioti around at all for months, but these guys had a dozen or so in a tank, for £14 i decided to snatch one up.

Hes going to be another little experiment for my tank, much like the RTBS, not sure hes going to like my Bolivians a lot, will have to see. I've waited a while to plonk something like this is there, i'll blame minnnt if it doesnt work out.

The Figher is coming out later into his new 35 Litre.

Must catch some corys and offload them soon too! Decided to remove all the bronze ones, if i can catch them, as well as my pandas, peppered and metae. Sterbai, venezuelan and schwartzi will stay.

Catching the corys tonight was tough work, i've decided to have a little change around :D

all plants out, fish out tomorrow morning, along with the play sand and clay. Not a job im looking forward to! Hoping i can siphon out most of the sand then net the fish then do the clay.

Wanted to get a propper planted substrate in there, getting fed up with the play sand blowing all over the place. It was used to keep my corys happy origionally, but i'm reducing how many i have now and i need something that doesnt have a mind of its own when the power heads are aimed downwards.

After reading through the forum and looking at the "professional substrates, like columbo/florabase, i've decided to plum for Tescos kitty litter, again, a cheap option, but its getting some really good reviews from you guys on here as a cheap alternative to Akadema/Akadama and looks quite cool too. Also, a few guys with loaches in their tanks use it too and thats the direction my tank is heading so....here goes nothing!
