My New Marine Tank Log.

Is the water ment to evaporate at such a fast rate, it has dropped like a cm over night, and i have NO leaks.

It can evapourate very quickly, especially if its a hot day, you have lights on, cover off and fans blowing in the tanks direction. Its nothing to worry about, it helps the tank stay cool. All you do it top up with RO water, because the salt is still dissolved in the tank. When you perform a water change, say drain 25 litres out, then you replace it with 25 litres of fresh salt water.

Top Up = RO
Water Change = SW

:good:

Yeh ive put the lid on, and the lights off for the moment as i have no fish in there.
Its going to be alot more difficult when i have MH lights helping evaporation, maybe a Ro maker would be a good investment.

yeh im considering an RO maker thing too the amount ive spent on water! it would of worked out cheaper to get the RO!

and tomorow im heading to proper job to enquire about MH floodlights, but id need to replace the bulbs, still alot cheaper than a aquarium one thoguh!

RO units are definitely worth the investment. I must have spent £30 on water in 6 weeks. I purchased a 6 stage one on Ebay for £76 delivered. It was 2nd hand but completely unused. No more lugging huge tubs of water home from the LFS. Although I need another excuse to go and perve at the two hotties that work in there now :sly: :hey:

haha theres only guys that work at my LFS so no missing out there, though the cashiers .... theres another story!

im gonna go shred ebay (again) to see what RO units they have ... no one bid against me :p

Im Getting quite impatient now, i ordered a AquqaC protien skimmer 13 Days ago from USA, and it still isnt here

It can take a few weeks for stuff to arrive from the US, especially if its sent surface mail.

took 4 days after dispatch to get to the airport, then took 5 days for the plane to arrive in uk and 2 days in customs so far

I've had friends send me stuff from the States and I've had a couple of bits from eBay.com too. It took 4-7 days for those items to arrive. I've had other items that have taken nearly 3 weeks to arrive. Normally though its under 10 days, but for electronic items etc, probably a little longer.

Wow, you ordered an AquaC from the States? Man, did you manage to get a good deal on it?

the AquaC with maxijet1200 was £80 and £20 P&P and something just over, came to £102 total.

Is it OK for UK electrics, thought everything was 110v in the states...?

Agreed, might have to pickup a transformer for it, but still, that's a STEAL of a price from what I understand about UK skimmer costs. Nice work :)
