My New 5ft Tank Has Arrived (some Pictures)

I'm very pleased with my tank and if any of you can't be pleased for me don't bother replying.

I do research EVERY fish I buy

I will not be taking any of my fish back and I do sell my fish to the fish shop if it's any of your business.

And I said I won't be adding more fish to the tank even know how hard it is.

People help newcomers to prevent fish being mistreated and obviously people get offended when you take up their time and do just the opposite of what has been suggested by experienced keepers. The fish you have bought are unsuitable and will not be happy with the tank as their permanent home. So it is only natural that concerned hobbyists get upset when they see people doing exactly what you have done - seeking help, than rejecting it and afterwards, to top it off, give us a nice spit to the face. With the attitude of that post, I don't think many give a darn whether you are pleased or not and are just looking after the good of the fish. You obviously haven't done much research if any at all and to say you did is ridiculous.

It doesnt work that way, you post your fish pictures and people will post thier opinion and it cant always be things like "oooh your tank is lovely".

If you have researched the tinfoil barbs then you will know that they will eat every scrap of plant life in that tank, eat any fish they can fit in their mouths, grow to 14" and with the amout of waste they (and the balas and sailfin pl*co) will produce you will need more than a fluval 304 deal with it (I have 2 x fluval 404's in my 5 foot and its nowhere near as heavily stocked).

I know you are relatively new to fishkeeping but thats no excuse to ignore more experienced fishkeepers advice. We are just looking out for your fishes wellbeing.

I'm sorry about my adtitude. I hadn't had a good day........

I got a different pump in the end as we found out it wasn't big enough as a previous message said :) I ended up getting a tetratec 1200

330 litres 73 gallons

I do care about fish, and I always research all my fish leading up to buying them and also take advise from the chap who has supplied all my fish, in every one of my tanks. He is a specialist in his field so I trust him fully.

Is your Filter the EX1200 if it is then the Aquarium tank size it's suitable for is 200 - 500 ltrs.

I would if I where you I would run both filters together to clone your new filter. If you can swop some of the filter media out of your old filter into the new filter, that will speed up the process.

With the stock that you have I would leave both filters running all the time. Better to be over filtered than under filtered, and just keep an eye on your water stats.

And this guy said 4 tinfoil barbs and 3 silver sharks would be fine in the tank with your current stock?

Did you buy the tank set up without a new filter in with the bundle?

Glad to see the tank is coming along nicely! You really do need to get rid of some fish though. If it makes any difference to you, I agree with all of the replies about getting rid of the tin foils and balas as it would be for the best. One thing that I didn't see mentioned is that (in my expirience) tin foils will not only eat live plants but they will dig up any fake plants and really do a job on tanks. What would be much cooler then the tin foils and balas, would be a large school of smaller fish. Maybe 7 or 8 rainbows. Boesemanis, turquoise or red rainbows can be stunning in groups.

Good luck with the tank and please listin to the advice given to you!
