My 9 month old betta's face turned yellow and the rest is his natural red and his gills are blue and he is lying down in the gravel a lot. He was trashing about and turning his head everywhere. So I had put some stress coat in his tank. His face turned back to its normal color and he stoped the trashing, but his gills are still blue and his lying down more then ever. :-( Does anybody know whats wrong with him?

We need more info.

What are your water parameters (nitrite, nitrate, ammonia, etc.)?
What is the tank temp?
How many gallons?
When was he last cleaned?
How often are your regular cleanings?
Do you have filtration in your tank?
If yes, is the tank cycled?
Is there any white fuzz, salt-like crystals, fin deterioration, red streaks and spots, etc. on the betta?
Is he housed with any other fish?

I really can't tell about the first 2 questionss.

His tank iss 2 gallons

He was last ccleaned about on month ago

My regular cleanings are 3 months (Or when the water is dirty)

Theres no filteration

I don't see any fuzz, salt like crystals, fin deteration, or red streaks, but I do see 2 white spots at the tips of his fins.

And he has his own tank.

I would do a water change if it hasn't been done in a month, it only a 2gal and soon get polluted, you should be maintaining it twice a week.

Ooook.
In a 2 gallon tank, with no filtration, you absolutely need to clean his water at LEAST once weekly, I would say twice. The tank also needs to be heated to at least 74-80 degrees for optimal health; you should try and find a tank thermometer asap. And I'm sure if you checked your water parameters, they would be off the charts. If you do not do a water change with dechlorinated water promptly, your fish will die.
As for the white fuzz, that sounds like the start of fungal fin rot. I don't know if there are meds to dose for that small of a tank, but I would def. look into it.

Lighting is recommended, and some sort of heater is a must: bettas need a water temperature of over 74° to maintain health, with 76°-80° being ideal. Prolonged periods of time below 74° will weaken the immune system. Bettas are prone to skin disorders, and weakened immunity will only worsen the problem. Additionally, 10-25% of the water must be changed weekly (100% if the tank is not cycled), and dechlorinator should be added with every water change.

I agree do a water change, plus add abit of salt say a teaspoon to help with the fungus and stress.

Uhh sorry false alarm on the white spots on his tail. I always forget that thats a highlight on his tail. I changed his tank water and he seems much better :)

Good add some salt a teaspoon, household table salt if you don't have any aquarium salt, mix in some of his water in a jug then add to his bowl.

Whoa. I've always heard to never use table salt since it is often iodized. If the betta doesn't really have fungus, I wouldn't bother with the salt unless she has aquarium salt. Could be dangerous.
