There is a lovely piece of java fern floating about (thankyou chesterscot :good: ) and a few mini lettuceplants.

I've also covered 1 coconut hut with java moss.

Double red apisto punker rocker male

is that a 3d plant background? i like it! works really well! (i do love your tank and its contents too  )

I think it is, it came with the tank

I've been watching the corys recently, trying to swim towards the background. They look like they can't work out why they can't get into those big plants

I'm thinking of java mossing things, like the slate cave :good:

that must be so funny to watch  my corys like their moss coconut and moss log - in fact theyre always in the log, hardly ever come out!

With some helpful advice, I have moved around some plants and added a 3rd coconut hut (all now of the right side).

Looking really nice Beth, healthy plants and obviously active healthy fish :) What I like to see! :D

Thankyou :good:

I'm going to order a few more plants, fill up the back left corner and i have a slate cave coming, esp made for my cichlids, hoping they use it

Wonderfull Beth, glad you didnt take my suggestions the wrong way, you've certainly implemented them how i imagined :) It'll be nice to see how this grows in over time...

Brill suggestions too :good:

I'm looking for something for the back left corner, what do you suggest? The grass idea, I think I will give a miss, cories are too boisterous during spawning I think.

Sorry Beth, only just stopped by your thread again.

I suppose cory's could pose a problem with vallis, but then again they equally could dig up any plant in the substrate. I suppose if you didnt want to try vallis in the rear you could havea nice crypt in the rear. Something like Cryptocoryne crisatula (sp balansae). That would grow tall, or if thats too tall you could opt for a smaller variant such as Cryptocoryne beckettii, or Cryptocoryne undulata "broad leaves". Certainly the latter would fill out nicely and create a dense rear corner for some fish to hide behind, whilst at the same time creating an attractive corner of lush plant growth. I have no doubts the plants i'm suggesting would have equally healthy growth as the plants you currently have, so they would look ace.

Alternatively i suppose the tall onion plant you have toward the front on the right you could place in the rear left corner. This would open up the front and a few pots of Cryptocryne parva would fit well where you moved a plant from. Or if Crypt parva is too small to your liking a delicate with your cory's you could have something like Echinodorus quadriscostatus (var magdelenensis), this would grow into a coherent little group at the front reaching roughly 15cm.

Or, a third and final little suggestion for the rear left corner - Echinodorus Uruguayensis. This has to be one of my favourite plants. Simply stunning. Google some of them plants and you'll get some more information on them to help you decide.

James :)
