Looks pretty cool when the neon is on, and you can see all the pearling in the tank.

Wow, just wow.

The tank looks incredible. Reading through the thread helped me find about a dozen varieties of plants I want to try out in my aquarium. I like the rocks you added to the tank, what kind are they?

Makes my plans of trying to get some riccia or java moss to mat over the top of one of my caves look pretty weak.

Many thanks :) the rock is "Mini Landscape Rock", if you plan on covering the caves get some other type of moss, java is not really great, Xmas, spiky or weeping are much nicer ;), if you go the Riccia route then you will need plenty of light and CO2 in the tank.

Just a quick update, after 4 monhs my CO2 bottle is running out, so it will be time to try a FE for the first time, going to be interesting that ;)

My glosso is filling in nicely, almost covered the front now, I prunned it at the weekend and now have new shoots going everywhere, here a quick photo:

Thanks for looking :)

What's your reason for having the extra circulator? I've only ever seen them in reef tanks

Well I like the way the weeping moss looks on the back wall so I may go with that. Java was my first though because I know I can get a hold of it easily.

I wanna try and get moss to cover these surfaces:

A DIY CO2 generator and a bulb better for plants are in the plans, I just wanna try something to begin with that might not need them.

The tank looks great and I'm using pictures of it to convince the Misses of why I'm talking about spending even more money on cooking supplies and light bulbs after I finish buying my fish.

Planted tanks do better with lots of circulation to get CO2 and nutrients evenly distributed around the tank.

The moss will look great on those surfaces ;) mosses do well in any condition, as long you don't have an algae problem in the tank.
I will post some more photos after this reply for you to convice the missus further hehehe ;)

Took some more shots today, did a water change yesterday and gave things a good prune. Nothing much has changed, just letting things grow, have reduce the lighting back to 4x24w, think the 6x24w was a bit too much.
Been slacking a little on the EI dosing and water changes, so have noticed some algae, will do another water change mid week to get things on track.

Here some shots of the tank:

The tank looks incredible as always. My wife thought so too. Once all my fish are in the tank its time to see if I have a green thumb.

I dont think any 1 has mentioned this but your male rainbow colored up nicely with the female in the tank do you see the breeding colors in the morning ? a picture would be great.
I see snails making a come back you still got the clown loach?
Extremely nice tank.

Many thanks Jonny, I have noticed some really bold strong colours in the morning from the male, and it chases the femate about all the time, will try to get a photo.
I managed to rehome the loaches about 4 months ago, the snail population increased but lately they have disapeared, I have since controlled my feeding much better which also controls their population.

Many thanks, it is a water lilly, little large for this tank but I like it and its been in the tank for quite a long time, even before I went out all planted. Come around and pick the tank up, make sure you have a suite case full of cash to leave behind! lol

Some photos of my fish :) the plants are just growing for now ;)
