hi my auntie has just baught a 120gal coldwater tank with only 4 fish in it the fish are a male fantail goldfish, 2 commets and a pleco she cant put fantails together with commets can you i thought you cant tell me ppl am i right or is she?

Generaly you shouldn't, but commets with fantails are better then commets with eye handicap fish. Also if those are common plecos take them OUT! They'll eat the goldfish's slime coat. Try and see if she'll take the commets back or put them in a pond?

ok i will do, try anyway ill just ask her if i can have the commets for my pond :p

she has to make sure the fantail gets enough food as the comet will be faster and she will need to watch as well for any bullying.

Mine (see sig) all live in happy harmony (yes I know the pleco is going to get big) at their current 3-4" size. In fact it's one of the fancy goldfish thats the bully of the tank!

So maybe not ideal, but far from critical IME.

aj xx

no ajhainey youre right, its not ideal, but when is a goldfishes life ever ideal?

the answer..... when its in a pond.
