My 30gal Journal

haha, just found this about the hairgrass:

"Long grass-like stems to about 6 inches (15cm)"

Mines about 24"?

This is a good example of why it is important to use the latin name. The three hairgrasses are Eleocharis acicularis and Eleocharis `parvula`, both of which stay low and are used in the fore and mid ground. What you have is Eleocharis vivipara, which is very much a background plant and one that has grown to two feet for me, before I cut it back.

Dave.

yep , if you look in my sig the plant in the back left it what i was talking about , grows like mad!

Ahhh, it was supposed to be Eleocharis acicularis that java sent me. They are useless :(

Thanks for the info.

Hey

Tank is looking good! Only slight bug bare is the blue background! Would look better with a log or rock style background picture

Tanks coming along really well :) love the Rotala wallichii I think it is on the left side, you're getting some lovely colour out of it.

Keep up the good work

Sam

Cheers :D the background is painted, so not much i can do about it.

full tanky.

...how do you trim the lilly?

its taking up about 1/2 my tank and has 10 pads on the surface. I wanna trim it down a bit, but I would still like it to flower.

I'm about to change it around, i think im gunna plant the whole background with stem plants, and I'm gunna get rid of that nasty caboma or whatever it is called. :good:
