i know you are talking about marine fish here but at my local pet store they will order in a £250,000 (uk) pure platinum arowana they wouldnt dare have one in stock. U could buy a good house for that.

Uh... why in the world did you think you should bring back a 17 month old thread? If you wanted to talk about it, perhaps you should have made a new post... sorry if I sound grumpy, but this is my biggest pet peeve.

One time that LiveAquaria website's WYSIWYG part they had a 3' Lemon Shark for $65,890, no joke. !!

The tank alone for one of those would be close to $.5 million, with filters, sand, hides, medication, it would be around $1.5-$2,000,000, so a grand total of around $2,065,890!!! And that's the specs from a website I found!! Dude, if you had that much money, go out and buy yourself a Lamborghini Gallardo!! It'll cost you $1,890,890 less than that tank!! And with that much money, you could buy a private jet!!!

That's insane!!

japanese dragon eels are a beauty, and they do cost as much as how swell they look. either way, with any expensive fishes, you'd probably get a nervous breakdown if anything happens to them.

I think if you can afford to buy them in the first place you can afford to not worry excessively. I had a few gem tangs in my last tank and just treated them like yellows.

Interesting a few post back someone said they had insured their stock.....NEVER heard of that before and would be amazed if you could.
