i eat buttons
for those of you that haven't read my post titled "bad news"
just a little while ago my cat contracted a bad urinary track infection
it was a very emotional time seeing my cat convulse and go into shock throughout all of the trama, tests and vet visits
after weeks of medication, worry and a rediculous vet bill he pulled through and is now off of the medication
i thought everything was well, but in all the commotion over the cat i didn't realize that my guinea pig has stopped drinking
this morning when i checked his water bottle and it was full, it dawned on me that this had happened the last few days
he had also been eating only small portions of his pellets and hay (although he is still scarfing down his fruits and veggi's)
i picked him up and he didn't feal right
he felt light and uneaven
if any of you have ever held a guinea pig, they are plump and slightly heavy for such a small package
i could feal some of his bones and when any presure is applied to his thinning little tummy his strain as if he is in pain, of at least uncomfortable
after the cat i can not afford another vet bill
my guinea pig is only 3 years old
his specific breed i have been successfully keeping til the age of 5
it seams a bit like he is shutting down out of old age
but he is not yet old
i just want to cry
i know these things happen and i have done everything in my power to provide everything in every aspect needed for my animals
they are so well taken care of it breaks my heart if they live a day under their estimated lifespan
i feal so helpless and irresponsible for not being able to afford another vet bill
i took a seringe of cool water and vitamins ind hand fed him 2 full seringes of water, which he readily gulped down
he was fealing a bit thin the past few days but i chopped it up to the heat
i have a fealing it may be much worse
i don't know what else to do
